Financed by: KfW of Germany Man-months: 30

Firm’s Responsibility:

Detailed Environmental Impact Assessment of the social, economic and physical effects of Moiben Dam project implementation on the flora, fauna and human population of the area. Study existing reservoirs within the environs, plan the human resettlement and compute compensation to landowners. Study health aspects due to the reservoir impoundment, adequacy of downstream compensation water and effect of construction works on the environment. Examine the effects on the reservoir due to erosion, sedimentation and pollution resulting from land use practices in the catchment area. Propose mitigation measures for all the adverse environmental impacts. Guidelines followed are those of the World Bank, African Development Bank and KfW.
